This is the official app for Ireland’s national pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale exhibition which will be held 4 June – 27 November 2011. The app was commissioned by contemporary sculptor Corban Walker (representing Ireland at the 54th Biennale) and Irish Pavilion Commissioner Emily-Jane Kirwan. The app serves as a companion piece to the presentation of three site-specific sculptural installations at the pavilion.
The app serves as a selected portfolio of Walker’s past work, a visual introduction to the concepts behind the Venice installation, and an interactive map that will provide walking directions to users who are in Venice during the Biennale. It also includes an exclusive video interview with the artist in his studio describing the creative process and the inspiration for the work at Venice with a “tour” of the pavilion’s scale model.
This free app is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android devices. Click the appropriate icon below to download it for your device.
